Nature
On the second floor, comprising 4 halls and a total exhibition area of 300 square meters, are arranged specimens of animated and non-animated nature from the Eastern Rhodopes under the "Nature" Section. In 2002, through a joint project of the Society for the Protection of Birds and a Swiss Foundation of Ecology, the exposition was renovated. The animated nature is presented through herbariums of rare and protected plants, herbs, while photos show rare animal species from the Eastern Rhodopes. The non-animated nature is presented through the collections of ore minerals, non-metalliforous minerals and precious stones. The fossils of shellfish, snails, porcupines, corals and the unique fossil fish - the only one of its kind in Southeast Europe, complete the rich variety of natural specimens. The color Photos of natural landmarks such as "The Stone Wedding", "The Forest Turned to Stone", "The Broken Mountain", "The Devil's Bridge" afford the visitors the pleasure of partaking of the great magic of nature.
